Community-Wide Mindfulness Self-Compassion Program

The Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Program is an evidence-based program that was created by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Chris Germer through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.

In this interview, Vira Salzburn talks with us about her use of MSC in her work as the Program Director of the Safety and Resilience programs at Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council. Learn why MSC is considered an upstream approach to suicide prevention that empowers clients before they arrive at a psychiatric crisis.

Access a list of disability and mental health rights organizations, including those at the national level that support clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities, those with substance-use challenges, and individuals who are a part of marginalized groups. This list hits many categories for the young, the elderly, and everyone in between.

The Legal Action Center has a searchable database that lets you sift through reports, memos, presentations, issue briefs, legal cases, resources, toolkits, and other valuable documents from 2000 to 2022.

The non-profit, Legal Aid at Work, provides an extensive legal FAQ about employment rights, unemployment, discrimination, work & family, and health & safety protections related to COVID-19. Though these are rapidly changing policies, this could be an ideal starting point if you’re seeking information about these topics.
