Mental health professionals spend their days helping clients manage emotional distress, yet often have little time or support to regulate their own nervous systems. What if supporting practitioner wellbeing isn't only about managing stress, but also about strengthening the body's capacity to recover from it?
Moving from one emotionally demanding encounter to the next can leave practitioners with little opportunity to reset. This free live webinar explores nervous system regulation as a foundational skill for supporting practitioner wellbeing and building a more sustainable career in mental health.
Led by Sally Al-Rawi, an undergraduate psychology researcher at Wayne State University and Founder and CEO of CognivraX™, this session brings together emerging research and practical innovation in practitioner wellbeing. She is developing CognivraX™, a patent-pending Adaptive Nervous System Regulation Platform for mental health professionals, focused on helping them manage occupational stress and strengthen their capacity for regulation. CognivraX™ was also a top-three finalist in the "Incubating BIG Psychological Innovation" pitch session at the American Psychological Association's 2026 Convention.
Drawing on emerging research and her experience building CognivraX™, Sally introduces a science-informed framework for understanding how nervous system regulation relates to occupational burnout. Rather than focusing exclusively on conventional stress-management strategies, she examines regulation as an ongoing capacity that practitioners can cultivate throughout their workday. The session connects underlying physiological processes with practical considerations for supporting recovery during emotionally demanding clinical work.
Participants will explore the science of nervous system regulation and its relationship to stress, recovery, and practitioner well-being. The discussion examines how repeated emotional demands and limited recovery opportunities can affect clinicians over time. Additional attention is given to the potential role of nervous system regulation in practitioner well-being and long-term professional sustainability. Through the lens of CognivraX™, participants will also consider how emerging approaches to adaptive regulation may help practitioners notice and respond to how they feel during the workday.
As part of Telehealth Certification Institute’s commitment to supporting our community, we are offering this non-CE webinar as a complimentary resource. We invite you to pause your clinical day and discover a new perspective on strengthening your body's capacity to recover from occupational stress.
