Ruby’s humanistic, multicultural, and developmental approach helps supervisors stay grounded in ethics, empathy, and clarity. In this course, she draws from real-life scenarios, like the case of “Ronald,” to illustrate how misperceptions can impact decisions—and how supervisors can avoid those pitfalls while supporting supervisees' growth.
Topics covered in this course include personal and professional identity factors that shape supervision, common supervisory blind spots, and relational dynamics that influence development. Participants will explore targeted strategies for remediation, including projective techniques, vulnerability-based interventions, and creative methods like art therapy prompts and self-compassion exercises. The course concludes with practical insights on tailoring interventions to a supervisee’s developmental stage.
