Description

An every-other-month continuing education series -- a free forum for clinical supervisors to learn, network, and share historical and innovative practices in clinical supervision for mental health professionals. The focus will include a combination of theory and practice. Each month an expert supervisor will facilitate a lecture and discussion. Guest presenters will include allied professionals representing counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, and psychology. Continuing Education credits will be offered for behavioral health clinicians.

Supervisees everywhere are asking for clear and detailed feedback on how they can improve their clinical skills. Accreditation programs and schools provide clarity on benchmarks and competencies, but supervisees want more. Supervisors can build supports within their supervision by utilizing inventories and feedback measures to help supervisees define their strengths and growing areas as well as create clearly defined goals and objectives. We all know supervision is more than just listening to them discuss their client cases.

Supervisors who are new to the industry or Supervisors who have been doing this for a while can benefit from learning about these inventories and feedback measures. Post-Pandemic Research has highlighted the changes in our industry, especially in the areas of support and feedback within supervision. As supervisors, we need to adapt to the new needs of our supervisees. In this course, you will develop some new understanding of the Inventories and Feedback Measures, some creative ways to introduce these to your supervisees, and some clarity in understanding what to look for when adding inventories and feedback measures to your supervision practice.

2. Illustrate the use of universal design through the lens of neuroinclusion in building spaces and systems that reduce barriers and enhance productivity for all staff.

March 21, 2025 Enhancing Clinical Supervision: Supporting Autistic and other Neurodivergent Therapists in Clinical Settings with Morganne Crouser

1. Apply the lens of neurodiversity to the understanding of the unique skills, strengths, and challenges of autistic therapists. 
2. Illustrate neuro-inclusive supervisory practices by applying structured communication and individualized accommodations.

2. Demonstrate skills necessary to create and implement affirming supervision practices for LGBTQIA+ clinicians.
3. Evaluate organizational culture to identify areas for improvement in fostering inclusivity and affirming supervision.
