Clinical supervision is one of the most impactful roles in behavioral health—and also one of the most complex. Without clear structure and preparation, supervision can quickly become overwhelming for both parties. Whether you’re stepping into the role for the first time or seeking to refine your current approach, this course provides the practical guidance and confidence you need to create a strong supervisory foundation and support the development of ethical, competent clinicians. Amie Bryant, LCSW, CAS, ACS, is an experienced clinical supervisor, EMDRIA consultant, and educator with over 20 years in diverse behavioral health settings. From directing a college counseling center to facilitating graduate-level training, Amie brings both depth and breadth to the supervision process. Her teaching is rooted in real-world experience and a passion for mentorship. Amie takes a clear, supportive, and intentional approach to clinical supervision. She integrates cognitive-behavioral and relational methods with an emphasis on structure, documentation, self-awareness, and supervisory presence—ensuring her strategies are both clinically sound and immediately applicable. This course walks participants through the four foundational steps to effective supervision: creating a vision, planning and preparation, navigating the supervisory journey, and successfully terminating the supervisory relationship. Topics include defining roles and responsibilities, establishing documentation and contracts, developing the supervisory alliance, preparing for the first session, and integrating cultural humility and trauma-informed care throughout the process. Structure the supervisory hour effectively: Learn how to organize supervision sessions to support skill development, client care, and supervisee growth. Establish the foundation of supervision: Identify essential documents, agreements, and procedures to clarify expectations and responsibilities. Step confidently into the supervisor role: Understand the responsibilities of effective supervisors and how to prepare for both individual and group supervision. Guidance from a trusted expert: Instructor Amie Bryant has trained and mentored clinicians across multiple settings and brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive perspective to supervision. Practical tools you can use immediately: This training goes beyond theory to provide checklists, prompts, and real-world strategies to streamline and strengthen your supervisory practice.
