“How Clinical Supervisors Can Adjust Their Evaluative Lens by Understanding the ‘Zone of Proximal Development’”

The purpose of this course is to provide insights into counselor and supervisor development. It will explain the “zone of proximal development,” and how it can be applied to understanding the development of counseling supervisors, in addition to beginning and middle stage counselors. It will explore how development changes for counselors during their internship to their post graduate work toward licensure. This course will also address the necessary adjustments for clinical supervisors along that development process. 

This is a non-interactive, self-study course.

Instruction consists of 1.5 hours of video instruction and a post-test.

Dr. Rosalind Polk-Hall, EdD, LPC, CPCS

Dr. Rosalind (Dr. Roz) Polk-Hall is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. Dr. Roz is remarkably diverse in her scope of practice as she is an active therapist in her community and serves as a clinical supervisor both in private practice and with community counseling agencies in the Atlanta area. Her current practice focus with supervision is to provide professional growth and development to master level supervisees via tele-supervision and tele-consultation. Her practice is exclusive to both individual and group supervision. Dr. Roz serves as clinical supervisor in various community counseling agencies in addition to providing individual, couples, and family therapy to clients served in the community. Dr. Roz has been a therapist in the field of counseling since 1998 and a clinical supervisor since 2006. She was an adjunct professor at Argosy University, Atlanta, for eight years while pursuing her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. Throughout her career, she has played a vital role in guiding and directing numerous supervisees towards licensure and interns working towards graduation. Dr. Roz is an approved certified professional counselor supervisor in the state of GA.

How to Complete the Course and Earn Your Certificate

To receive your certificate of completion you must complete the course in its entirety.

To complete an Online Self Study Course, one must register, log in, select the My Courses option from the menu items, click the Course Title, complete all of the modules, complete and pass the post-test(s), and complete the course evaluation.

A grade of at least 80% or more is required to pass the post-test. Retaking the post-test is possible until the participant is able to pass the test.

Psychologists and other professionals seeking CE credit through our approval with the American Psychological Association are asked but not required to complete the course evaluation before obtaining their certificate of completion, however passing a post-test for online self-study courses, and submitting one's attendance for live on-site and live webinars is required.

You can download or print your certificate of completion by logging into your account, navigating to the course by selecting the My Courses option from the menu items, clicking the Course Title, scrolling to the Certificate of Completion section, and clicking on the Certificate of Completion link to either download it or print it.

Participants may request a printed version of their certificate of completion to be delivered by mail. A shipping/handling fee of $6.95 will be charged per request. Shipping internationally may require an additional charge.
