Description

This presentation provides an overview of the process of providing supervision within your organization. Benefits and barriers are reviewed and the difference between administrative and clinical supervision are discussed. Participants learn to conduct effective telesupervision and review supervisory roles and documentation processes.

This non-interactive self-study course is the recording of a live webinar presented by Dr. Malcolm Horn on February 12, 2021

Dr. Malcolm Horn, PhD, LCSW, LAC, SAP, MAC:

Malcolm Horn-Charnesky started her career working with the elderly and adults with disabilities. She has over 10 years of progressive clinical experience working with the complex diagnoses that often accompany addictions and co-occurring disorders. Malcolm started working specifically with addictions in 2006 when she moved to Billings and started working at Rimrock. She coordinates the continuing education for licensed staff, ensuring they have opportunities to appropriate continuing education units to improve their skills and ability to meet the needs of clients. Malcolm also supervises and coordinates the internship program and ensures all learning objectives are met. She provides educational lectures and workshops to patients and community members and also conducts adjunctive group, family, and individual therapy.
Malcolm received her Master’s in Social Work from Walla Walla College, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is licensed by the state of Montana as an Addiction Counselor. She also has accreditation from the NAADAC (National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors) as a Masters level Addiction Counselor. She is a SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) certified by the DOT through NAADAC as well as the only nationally certified intervention professional (NCIP) in Montana. Malcolm was the President of the Montana Association of Drug and Alcohol Counselors from 2015-2017 and is the current regional vice president for the national association. She is the president-elect of NAADAC and teaches two courses at Montana-State University-Billings. Malcom completed her Ph.D. in psychology in April of 2019.

CE Hours

Credit Hours: This course consists of 1 continuing education hour of credit.

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Telehealth Certification Institute LLC maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 05/02/2021 – 05/02/2024. Social workers completing this course receive 1 clinical continuing education credit.

How to Complete the Course and Earn Your Certificate

To receive your certificate of completion you must complete the course in its entirety.

To complete an Online Self Study Course, one must register, log in, select the My Courses option from the menu items, click the Course Title, complete all of the modules, complete and pass the post-test(s), and complete the course evaluation.

A grade of at least 80% or more is required to pass the post-test. Retaking the post-test is possible until the participant is able to pass the test.

Psychologists and other professionals seeking CE credit through our approval with the American Psychological Association are asked but not required to complete the course evaluation before obtaining their certificate of completion, however passing a post-test for online self-study courses, and submitting one's attendance for live on-site and live webinars is required.

You can download or print your certificate of completion by logging into your account, navigating to the course by selecting the My Courses option from the menu items, clicking the Course Title, scrolling to the Certificate of Completion section, and clicking on the Certificate of Completion link to either download it or print it.

Participants may request a printed version of their certificate of completion to be delivered by mail. A shipping/handling fee of $6.95 will be charged per request. Shipping internationally may require an additional charge.
