This course is a live, interactive webinar held on Friday, October 27, from 12-5pm Eastern Daylight Time.
Registration closes at midnight (EDT) the day before the event
When therapy sessions moved online, therapists and clients experienced growing pains; however, it was relatively simple to recreate a talk therapy session via video. Evidence in favor of the efficacy of telemental health for therapy quickly accumulated. For psychologists, though, psychological assessments presented added challenges in the transition online. Many discontinued assessments all together during lockdown until they felt they could safely offer in-person services again. But the benefits of telehealth assessment go beyond safety during a pandemic: like tele-therapy, tele-assessment improves accessibility for clients who cannot easily attend an in-person appointment.
This program is for psychologists and other psychological assessors qualified to conduct psychological assessments. This is an intermediate to advanced course, so participants are expected to have background knowledge about psychological assessments as well as the ethical and legal considerations of telemental health. This program will bridge the gap between these two subjects, allowing you to take your assessment practice online. Assessments include mental status examinations, cognitive and achievement testing, personality measures, progress measures, and more.
This course will prepare you to add various psychological assessments to your telehealth practice. Learn which assessments can easily transfer to the telehealth setting and how to follow ethical best practices with these measures. Develop skills for implementing standardized procedures in online sessions, scoring, and interpreting data accurately. When you finish this course, you will be ready to add psychological assessments to your telehealth practice.
