How to Become an Approved Clinical Supervisor for LPCs in Louisiana

📌 Initial LPC-S Approval Requirements

According to LAC 46:LX. Chapter 7, §705(A)(1), to become an LPC-S, you must:

• Hold an active LPC license in good standing.

• Complete a board-approved professional training program in supervision.

The program must include a minimum of 25 direct clock hours of face-to-face interaction with the instructor.

Note: The Telehealth Certification Institute does not currently offer a course that meets the 25 face-to-face hour requirement for initial LPC-S approval in Louisiana.

🔁 LPC-S Renewal Requirements

To maintain your LPC-S designation, the Board requires:

• 3 clock hours in clinical supervision CE every 2 years, as part of your 40 total CE hours for license renewal.

• These 3 hours must be specific to supervision practice and must be approved by the Board.
