How to Become an Approved Clinical Supervisor for Nevada Counselors

If you're a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in Nevada aiming to become an approved clinical supervisor, it's essential to understand the state's requirements and how to fulfill them effectively. This guide outlines the necessary steps and how Telehealth Certification Institute (TCI) can assist you in meeting these requirements.

✅ Nevada Clinical Supervisor Requirements

🎓 Initial Approval Requirements

To become an approved clinical supervisor for CPC or MFT in Nevada, clinicians must:

  • Hold an active, unrestricted license issued by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Professional Counselors.

  • Possess at least 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience.

  • Complete a graduate-level course in supervision or a professional training program approved by the Board, consisting of at least 45 clock hours in supervision and at least 25 hours of supervised supervision experience.

Alternatively, supervisors may already hold the Approved Supervisor designation from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) or the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential from the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE).
