South Dakota CEU Requirements

In South Dakota, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) are required to complete 40 continuing education (CE) hours every two years to maintain active licensure, as regulated by the South Dakota Department of Social Services. Once approved, supervisors who are not AAMFT-Approved must complete at least 4 hours of supervision-specific CE during each two-year renewal cycle to maintain their supervisor status (ARSD 20:71:05:07).
