Within this total, a minimum of 3 hours must primarily focus on counselor ethics, ensuring practitioners remain grounded in ethical standards. Each continuing education hour must consist of 50 minutes of instructional time. Acceptable continuing education activities include attending professional meetings, conferences, and workshops, as well as taking graduate courses in counseling or other mental health disciplines.

CE Requirements to Be Approved as a Clinical Supervisor

In North Dakota, certified clinical supervisors must complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) focused on clinical supervision every five years to renew their supervisor certification. This requirement, outlined in North Dakota Administrative Code 97-02-01-08, ensures that supervisors maintain their professional competency and stay current with best practices in supervision. The Telehealth Certification Institute (TCI) offers a 30 CE Clinical Supervision Training Bundle as well as individual supervision courses to help North Dakota supervisors meet this renewal requirement efficiently and effectively.
