Supervision is more than a checklist—it’s a relationship, a responsibility, and a reflection of your clinical identity. When done well, supervision shapes the profession and transforms client care. But without a clear supervisory style, even experienced clinicians can feel uncertain, ineffective, or stuck. Whether you're mentoring interns or guiding newly licensed professionals, this course invites you to explore a richer, more intentional way to supervise—grounded in theory, relational skill, and cultural humility. Amie Bryant, LCSW, CAS, ACS, brings over two decades of clinical and supervisory experience across diverse settings including higher education, private practice, wilderness therapy, and integrated healthcare. As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and former Director of the Fort Lewis College Counseling Center, Amie has trained and mentored clinicians at every stage of development and brings a practical, grounded lens to clinical supervision. Using a strengths-based, relational approach, Amie encourages supervisors to develop their unique supervisory voice by reflecting on their values, modeling effective practice, and engaging in bidirectional feedback. Her trauma-informed and culturally responsive methods allow participants to connect the “why” behind what they do, with practical tools they can implement immediately. This course explores the six foundational dimensions of supervisory style: purpose and philosophy, supervision models, goals and expectations, development and learning, contextual factors, and the supervisory relationship. Participants will examine the dialectics of supervision, evaluate developmental models, learn to adapt to supervisees’ learning styles, and engage with issues of power, privilege, and identity in the supervisory space. Clarify your supervisory identity: Learn how your values, background, and philosophy shape your supervision approach. Enhance your supervisory toolkit: Gain knowledge of evidence-based models and developmental frameworks to guide your work. Strengthen relational dynamics: Build reflective, culturally responsive, and empowering relationships with your supervisees. Designed for experienced professionals: Tailored to those with foundational supervision skills looking to grow with nuance and confidence. Led by an expert supervisor: Learn from Amie Bryant, a seasoned clinical leader with deep expertise in supervision, therapy, and training. Backed by a trusted CE provider: Telehealth Certification Institute is committed to quality, accessibility, and empowering clinicians to provide exceptional care. List key dimensions in developing your supervisory style. Explain the roles and purpose of clinical supervisors in individual and group supervision. Name at least two models of clinical supervision. Assess the stages of development and learning styles in clinical supervision. Whether you’re refining your practice or rebuilding it from the ground up, this self-study course offers a supportive space to reflect, reframe, and recharge your supervision style.
