Beyond Hate Toward Love promo

Systemic oppression isn’t just a social issue—it’s a clinical one. When unexamined bias and cultural blind spots go unchecked, they can quietly shape treatment agendas, damage therapeutic alliances, and deepen disparities in care.

If you’re committed to dismantling injustice in all its forms—not just in society, but in your clinical practice—this course offers an essential step forward in awareness, humility, and action.

Dr. Claire Green-Forde, LCSW, brings an unflinching yet compassionate lens to this critical conversation. As a social worker, policy advocate, and leader in racial and social justice, Dr. Green-Forde’s experience spans mental health, trauma, criminal justice, and human development. Her work reflects a deep understanding of intersectionality, cultural humility, and the clinical impacts of systemic oppression.

In this self-paced course, Dr. Green-Forde creates a supportive learning space that invites participants to challenge internalized beliefs, examine unconscious bias, and reconnect to the core values of behavioral health work. Through storytelling, research, and calls to action, she encourages clinicians to do the work of reflection, repair, and re-alignment with the ethics of equity and justice.

Course topics include the clinical impact of racial trauma, the nature of implicit bias, systemic oppression across institutions, cultural humility, and the role of social workers as change agents. Participants will explore how these dynamics show up in assessment, treatment, and advocacy—and how to shift toward an anti-oppressive, love-centered practice.

Key Takeaways:

  • Identify the role of internalized bias: Understand how ingrained beliefs may influence assessment, treatment, and advocacy decisions.

  • Interrupt unconscious patterns: Apply strategies to recognize and shift implicit bias within themselves and their work.

  • Recognize racial trauma as clinical trauma: Integrate the concept of racial trauma into case formulation and treatment planning.

Why this course?

  • A mission-aligned experience: Rooted in the values of the NASW Code of Ethics and the mission of Telehealth Certification Institute to deliver people-centered, equity-driven education.

  • Led by a visionary leader: Dr. Claire Green-Forde offers both lived and professional expertise that bridges theory and real-world clinical application.

  • Built for clinicians seeking impact: Designed specifically for behavioral health providers who want to align their values with their clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how internalized beliefs and biases shape treatment agendas, assessment, practice, and advocacy.

  • Describe techniques to rewire unconscious biases in their minds.

  • Explain racial trauma and the social and clinical implications of racial trauma in treatment.

This course offers more than awareness—it offers a path forward. Join Dr. Green-Forde in this powerful call to reflect, re-engage, and recommit to a practice rooted in justice and love.
