Description

Customized Clinical Role Play Builder banner

Go beyond canned scenarios and step into a simulation built for the complexities of modern clinical practice. The Customized Clinical Role-Play Builder empowers you to design, build, and navigate hyper-realistic clinical encounters; tailoring everything from a client's unique behaviors to the specific ethical and jurisdictional rules that govern your work.

Whether you're a clinician preparing for a difficult case, a supervisor assessing a trainee's skills, or a professor teaching core competencies, this is your on-demand clinical practice environment. This interactive experience puts you in complete control from the design studio to the therapy session.

Now featuring live in-session coaching, the builder is structured into three distinct phases to maximize your skill development:

Phase 1: Your Design Studio ✍️

Collaborate with an AI design consultant to build your custom scenario. Define every critical variable:

  • Your Professional Persona: Practice from your own role, whether you're a licensed clinician, an intern, or a student.
  • The Client Profile: Design a de-identified client based on your caseload or create a new challenge, specifying their demographics, communication style, and triggers.
  • Multi-Person Dynamics: Add family members or partners to the session to practice couples and family therapy.
  • Your Target Skills: Identify the specific clinical skills you want to practice and receive feedback on.
  • The Rules of Engagement: Set the context by defining which state laws or professional ethical codes (e.g., ACA, NASW) the simulation must adhere to.

Phase 2: Your Immersive Role-Play & Coaching

Once you approve the design, the AI transitions from consultant to client, embodying the personas you created with psychological realism.

  • Conduct the Session: Engage in the therapy session, practicing your target skills in a realistic environment.
  • In-Session Coaching: If you feel stuck or want to explore alternatives, you can ask the AI for suggestions during the session by starting your message with "AI..." (e.g., "AI, how might I rephrase that?").

Phase 3: Your Feedback Report & Analysis

After you complete the role-play, you'll receive a comprehensive feedback report. This detailed analysis is where your practice turns into progress, evaluating your performance on your stated goals, your adherence to ethical guidelines, and offering actionable suggestions and clinical considerations to enhance your skills.

With 6 months of access and unlimited attempts, you can return as often as you need to practice new scenarios, refine your techniques, and track your development over time.

Use Cases & Benefits

For the Individual Clinician

  • Confidential Case Rehearsal: Create de-identified simulations of your most challenging clients to practice new interventions and prepare for difficult conversations.

  • On-Demand Skill Development: Hone advanced skills like crisis de-escalation, couples therapy, or navigating ethical dilemmas at your own pace.

For the Clinical Supervisor

  • Objective Skill Assessment: Move beyond self-report. Assign a standardized scenario to a supervisee and review the transcript and feedback report together for targeted, evidence-based guidance. Labeled attempts make tracking progress simple.

  • Targeted Remediation: If a trainee struggles with a specific competency, design a simulation that directly targets that skill, providing a concrete opportunity for practice and evaluation.

For the Graduate Program

  • Standardized Clinical Exams: Deploy a uniform, FERPA-compliant scenario to an entire cohort to assess core competencies consistently and fairly.

  • Bridge Theory to Practice: Allow students to apply classroom learning in a dynamic, responsive environment, building a portfolio of labeled practice attempts that demonstrates their growth.

What to Expect

  1. Meet Your AI Design Consultant: Begin in Phase 1, where a friendly AI guides you through designing your custom scenario. You can define every detail or ask the AI for suggestions.

  2. Approve the Final Blueprint: Before the role-play begins, you will review a complete summary of the client, your role, the skills you're targeting, and the rules of the session.

  3. Engage in a Realistic Role-Play: In Phase 2, interact with the AI-powered client(s) via text or speech. The AI will respond with authentic, unscripted dialogue based on the persona you designed.

  4. Receive Your Comprehensive Feedback Report: After you click the 'Finish Attempt' button, the system generates a detailed report analyzing your performance, including:

    • An evaluation of your effectiveness on the skills you chose to practice.

    • Feedback on your adherence to the specific legal or ethical rules you established.

    • A new "Additional Clinical Considerations" section with insights on relevant techniques or protocols you might not have considered.

How to Participate

  • Immediate Access: After purchasing, the lab is immediately available in your online learning portal.

  • Name and Launch: Name your activity attempt (e.g., "Couples Intake Practice") and launch the lab.

  • Work at Your Own Pace: There are no timers. Take the time you need to think and respond. You can leave and resume your attempt at any time before completion.

  • Complete and Review: End the session by clicking the 'Finish Attempt' button. Your detailed performance report will be generated and saved.

  • Repeat and Refine: You have unlimited attempts for 6 months. Use them to practice different scenarios or refine your approach to the same one.
