Description

Integrated behavioral health is the practice of combining different specialties into one comprehensive treatment package to best treat clients’ physical and behavioral symptoms. In order to truly provide integrated care, different specialties must be able to communicate with each other and seamlessly blend their services. Knowing that multidisciplinary care requires true teamwork, how do you integrate different specialties within your organization or with other providers? This course focuses on utilizing best practices with substance-use disorder and mental health clients and what steps counselors can use to provide integrated services from assessment through continuing care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Adapt assessment skills for substance-use disorder and mental health including screening tools and interview questions, discern which sub-groups within the SUD and mental health population may not be appropriate for.
  • Employ documentation strategies needed for tele sessions to ensure ethical standards and best practices are being met, illustrate necessary steps to ensuring client safety in tele sessions.
  • Describe potential ethical issues that may arise using telehealth services, understand what policies and procedures must be in place for teleservices.

This is a non-interactive self-study course.

Instruction consists of 1 hour of video instruction and a post-test.
